| What is the tax status of Navigators? |

| All Navigators registered on Syndicor list of Navigators are deemed to be independent contractors for the purpose of income tax in the USA and Canada. After you (= Navigator) earn some income at Syndicor, your funds will be paid to your account from Canada. Most countries of the world have international tax treaties with Canada. In order to determine your (= Navigator's) tax status properly, we need from you legible copies of 2 pieces of your personal or business identification with picture ID, typically a copy of your passport ID page and copy of your citizens' ID card or drivers license. Our financial department must have these copies from you on file before we allow any withdrawals from your account. Once we determine your tax status properly, transactions are pretty much straightforward. Canadian income treaties with many countries of the world allow transfers of income to your account in full, without any withholding taxes on Canadian side. With small number of countries, there can be a withholding tax, up to 20% of your Syndicor-related income. Your tax information, as well as copies of your IDs, are protected by Canadian law and cannot be sold to anyone. |
